MAMU MIFI is a multidisciplinary collective that explores building stories around identity through objects and fantasy ethereal worlds.
Jennifer and Marisa met in 2020 in Tkaronto/Toronto, Canada from a mutual interest in their works. As a collective we are both of mixed Asian heritage and influenced by our dual-identity backgrounds to carry approaches of identity and body into our work. We are interested in body identity for POC communities, and portraying this through a material experience. In 2022 we started MAMU MIFI, a multidisciplinary collective that explores building stories around identity through objects and fantasy ethereal worlds. We have recently exhibited work at Holt Renfrew with the Asian Arts and Culture Trust, CRNFT online gallery, 100% Silk Gallery and Joys Gallery.
